Our workshop 'Art Yarns' with Katie Weston was a tremendous success. Katie is an enthusiastic tutor who explained 
everything so well it made it really easy to follow her instructions.




We had an amazing day, leaning new and interesting techniques to create some gorgeous art yarns. It took spinning to a whole new level!

The skills needed for Art Yarn Spinning definitely helps you to become a better all-round spinner; as you need to be doing so many things all at the same time, whilst maintaining good wheel and drafting control. Ha!

At times we were all concentrating so hard that there wasn't a sound in the room...but oh were we pleased when it all came together and we saw that we were actually making a beehive!

Very many thanks to Katie for all her patience and expert tuition.














Katie brought a selection of her beautiful hand dyed fibres and other goodies!

Our '40' exhibition was held at the Old Hall, Cowbridge from 5th - 29th June. (am only on the 29th June). It was held to celebrate the guild's 40th Anniversary and to show case 40 years of weaving, spinning, dyeing threads yarn and fibre! '40' EXHIBITION 5th - 29th June 2018

This year we are celebrating our 40th Anniversary!  To mark the occasion we are holding an exhibition of our members work at the   Old Hall, High Street Cowbridge CF71 7AH  from the 5th -  29th June 2018.   The Exhibition intends to illustrate the importance of preserving our ancient making traditions. So please come along and have a look at what has inspired us to make a wide range of things from yarn and fibre!  On Saturday 16th June we are holding a 'have a go day' at The Old Hall, so please come along and have some fun having a go at spinning, inkle weaving, weaving, braid-making  its a great way to meet new friends and become a maker.
